My cousin Sharon was the sweetest person to everyone. Despite both her personal and health challenges in life, she never lost her sense of caring and empathy. She was a great daughter, mother, cousin, and friend.
She will be greatly missed.

Sharon and I were close friends throughout high school, four years of college, and we even got our first jobs together, as social workers for Family Services. Sharon has been the same core person all of her life. Always kind, encouraging, engaging, funny, intelligent, open, deep, and supportive. Perfect qualities for a friend. If you were in Sharon’s orbit, you were a lucky, lucky person.
Over the last few years, Sharon and I rekindled our friendship and had long talks. We didn’t dwell on tough parts of our lives, but talked a lot about high school and college, silly things we did, and the boys we liked along the way. Sharon was hilarious at times, with a self-deprecating sense of humor and a playful way of looking at the world.
As weak as she was physically, Sharon had a resilient heart. She adored both of her children and was so proud of everything Kristen did for her to make her life easier.
I feel so fortunate to have known Sharon. As difficult as life was for her. she never complained and always brought an upbeat spirit to our talks. I don’t know how she did it. She was a model for me in terms of how to face illness and death with an abundance of humor and grace.
Kristen and Kevin, you had a wonderful mother. You will forever benefit from how she listened to you, gently guided you, and saw the best in you. During difficult times, keep her in your hearts. It will help.
Love,
Sharon Tettenhorst

Kristen and Kevin, my condolences to you for the loss of your beautiful mother. As she will live on forever in your hearts, memories of our fun times will live on forever in mine, We met in the 7th grade and spent many after school afternoons and weekends at each other’s houses. I love the pictures you posted. She still has that beautiful smile and big brown eyes I remember so well. Wish I could have made it up to Minnesota like we talked about, but we had a long phone conversation reminiscing about our friends and families. Take care of yourself, and each other.
❤️ Linda (Koeller) Richardson

I am so sorry for your loss.
Sharon was a dear old friend. We were friends since elementary school. Played in the neighborhood every day. Then we were friends as adults and had such fun with you kids. We laughed with the fun crazy times and cried through the tough times.
I will truly miss her.
Rest in peace my friend. God Bless you all.
Love, Sue Strider
