Obituary of Jim Timmermans
James (Jim) Timmermans a lifelong MN resident, passed peacefully at home in the presence of family on Friday August 9th after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born and raised in Minneapolis through his young adulthood, attending grade school there and graduating from De La Salle High School. Jim later resided in the south Metro Twin Cities.
James was most recently married to Diana (Ormson)Harner and the two have remained constant companions throughout the years. Together, they have daughter Sara and son Tyler. Prior to this, Jim was first married to Cheryl Hanson and together had sons Jon and Brian.
After serving eight years in the Army National Guard, Jim embarked on a 43 year career in sales with ThermoKing in Bloomington, MN. Post retirement, he worked part time transporting cars for Enterprise Car Rental.
Throughout Jim’s personal and professional life, he most enjoyed the company of his family, friends and coworkers over anything. Jim has fond memories of time shared over many years with friends at deer camp in Park Rapids, MN. He was alway willing to lend a hand, jumped at the chance to show people around Minneapolis and loved telling stories. Jim never turned down an opportunity to chat, whether with someone he’d known his whole life or someone he’d known for five minutes. He will be remembered fondly as a loved companion, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and neighbor to many.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents John and Alene Timmermans and sister Sheila Timmermans. He is survived by his significant other Diana Harner, sons Jon Timmermans (Lisa), Brian Timmermans (Nikki), daughter Sara Brown, son Tyler Timmermans (Tiffany), brothers Mike Timmermans (Vivian), Kevin Timmermans (Betty), grandchildren Cady, Autumn, Logynn, Brody, Adeline, Eloise and Audrey.
