Obituary of Glenn Neil Rasmussen
GLENN NEIL RASMUSSEN, age 85, passed away unexpectedly on April 12th at our special place in the woods, Porcupine Lodge. He grew up in Hope, MN where, at a very young age, he developed a passion for hunting small game and fishing. He married his wife, Nancy, in 1967 and they resided in St. Louis Park, MN where they raised two amazing sons, Bob and Tim. He is also survived by a wonderful daughter-in-law, Lori, and two amazing granddaughters, Makena and Macy. Glenn was also very close to his niece, Patty, and her family.
Glenn spent his entire career working for Minnesota Toro. One of his favorite “gigs” was working the Great Minnesota State Fair at the Toro booth, even after his retirement. Many business associates and friends would stop by to visit him, year after year after year!
Glenn was fortunate that both sons, and lots of friends, shared his passions. For many years he organized amazing fishing trips to Canada – many, many enjoyable memories and GREAT fish stories! He was also an avid hunter and has filled the cabin with all his “trophies.” He could recount each and every trip and adventure he experienced. Needless to say, he spent much of his spare time walking the fields and prairies of Minnesota pursuing small game.
Fall was a “favorite” time of the year for Glenn. He would spend time in the beautiful woods at Porcupine Lodge or the fields in Canada listening to the sounds and enjoying the fall sights with his sons and many friends, hoping to find a covey of grouse, a bear, a deer, a turkey, or a flock of geese. The sounds and sights of the woods were always inviting.
Glenn was an amazing man, a wonderful Dad, an unforgettable friend, and an exceptionally kind, caring, and loving husband. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
I LOVE YOU GLENN!
