Obituary of Elizabeth Joyce St. Angelo
Elizabeth Joyce St. Angelo (Little), age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022, with family by her side. Beloved mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, friend, step-grand-mother, and step-great-grand-mother (aka grand s’mom), she is remembered for her loving-kindness, generosity, strength, resilience, brilliance, being an avid student of life, and genius card-player. She made people feel like they were the most special person on earth.
Elizabeth Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Don, daughter Gina, sister Gloria, brother Ross, parents Charles and Lillian Little. Survived by her daughter Anne (Jon Kehrberg), son Thomas, granddaughter Elisa, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Elizabeth Joyce was born on January 28, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Richfield, was part of the first class to graduate from the new Richfield High School. She was their first homecoming queen and crowned Miss Richfield.
On September 17, 1960 she married Donald St Angelo of Cumberland, WI. She was a 6th grade teacher for a few years before starting her family.
Elizabeth Joyce and Don were two of the co-founders of Homeward Bound, Inc. a non-profit organization for mentally disabled children. She served in many leadership positions there.
In 1991 Elizabeth Joyce received her Master of Divinity and became an ordained minister through Sancta Sophia Seminary. She officiated at Lake Harriet Community Church, taught adult classes, officiated weddings and funerals, and ministered.
Elizabeth Joyce was co-founder of Lighthouse Events where she led spiritual retreats and seminars. Her ministry was love.
In her later years, Elizabeth Joyce enjoyed traveling and cherished her time with her family and friends -- playing cards, chatting and encouraging. Throughout the years, she supported many causes dear to her heart. Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
A Celebration of Life gathering, including her wish for an ice cream social, will take place at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 with visitation at 11am and service to begin at Noon.
A Burial Service will take place in Cumberland, WI on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022.
