My sincere sympathy in the loss of Mary. Since I met her in Philosophy 101 class when we were sophomores at SDSU, she has played a large part in my life. Over 55 years we shared a myriad of memorable experiences including several trips, both foreign and domestic. We attended evening art history classes together and subsequently made many treks to museums. There were literally hundreds of films, plays, concerts, and even a handful of operas as well as countless lunches, shopping trips and, even when we were much younger, a couple of drunken evenings. One of the things I most appreciated about her was her support as my MS progressed. She was constantly thinking of ways to make the world more accessible to me and to continue doing many of the things we enjoyed doing together. She not only drove me places in my van, but instructed many of my staff in its operational quirks. Circumstances kept us physically apart during the last few months of her life, but a phone call never lasted less than an hour. She was my closest friend and I will miss her a great deal.
