Obituary of Terri Ann Ristow

Terri Ann (Mathisen) Ristow's mortal life ended on June 14, 2015, after a courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer. Her son, Brent was at her bedside. Terri was born May 7, 1951 in Duluth to Leslie and Irene F. (Sandstrom) Mathisen. She attended Grant Elementary School, Washington Junior High and Duluth Central High School. Terri graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a degree in Psychology. Terri based her life on love and concern for family, friends and others. Her love for her husband, Dennis created a family and gave Dennis a life purpose. Terri's pride and joy were her children, Nicole and Brent. She had lifelong friends from childhood and easily made others throughout her life. In life Terri's concern for others was exemplified by her numerous donations to the Blood Bank. In death it is exemplified by the donation of her corneas so someone else may see. Whoever that may be will have beautiful blue eyes. She also donated to Animal Allies and the Humane Society. Terri had various jobs to help her family make ends meet and where she could, have time for her kids. She was a real estate agent for the last 15 years of employment, retiring in 2010. Terri loved to play golf, fish, read, travel in the RV, talking with and making new friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie C. Mathisen. Terri is survived by her mother, Irene F. Lueck; loving husband of 43 years, Dennis Ristow of Duluth; daughter, Nicole (Cameron) Twing of Laramie , Wyo., and son, Brent Ristow of St. Paul; a grandson, Maysen Twing; her sister Nanette (Pat Jessie) of Olympia, Wash. and her hairy companion, Mr. Gibbs (a Yorkie).
