Obituary of John J. Metzger

John J. Metzger Age 73 of Bloomington, died peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on 7/12/15. Preceded in death by parents, Matthew Jr. & Victoria (Bach) Metzger; brother, Victorian. Survived by loving wife, Connie Christie; brothers, Matthew of Deer River, MN and Dr. Franz (Carol) Metzger of Edina; sister, MaryKatherine Heinz of Burnsville. He attended Christ the King grade school, Southwest and DeLaSalle high schools and graduated from the University of MN. Past President & Honorary Member of the Apollo Club of Mpls. for 46 years. He was a genuine professional in the wholesale wine & spirits industry for 50 plus years. Distinguished active member of Everett McClay VFW serving in the notable Honor Guard, also a member of the American Legion. Visitation 4-8 PM Mon., 7/27/15 at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina (952-924-4100). Funeral service 11 AM Tues., 7/28/15 at Christ the King Church, 5029 Zenith Ave. S., Minneapolis with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. SEMPER FI my love.
