Obituary of John Haire
Dr. John Haire, 63, of Duluth, died unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep Sept. 10, 2015.
John was passionate about the education of our youth, believing that all kids have a right to be inspired to realize their full potential. He was at Marshall School for 15 years where he ultimately served as the upper school director and served five years as the Executive Director of HCIS. He loved all animals, bicycling and history.
John and Carolyn had 32 joyous years together - 29 married. He will be remembered for his kind and loving heart, humor and his brilliance. His spirit will be forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Abbie Marie.
John is survived by his adoring wife, Dr. Carolyn Phelps; his father, John Severe Haire; brothers Bobby, Carl and Frank; sister Cathy, Keith and Marianne Phelps; and cats Catness and Coco whom he deeply loved.
John's heart could no longer contain his love. It lives now in the sun and the moon and the stars and through our eyes to light our way. Our grief pours out of us, holding hands with his love.
