Obituary of Shirley Kay Petersen

Shirley Kay Petersen, age 79, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2015 of Alzheimer’s disease. Shirley loved to travel, the Arizona desert, art, music, going barefoot and especially chocolate. Above all else, Shirley was a woman who cherished her family, was close to God and had many friends. Preceded in death by husband of 57 years, Ray. Survived by children, Julie Matz (Petersen), Cindy (Mike) Lukecart and Tim (Myrna) Petersen; grandchildren, Nick (Jenna) Lukecart, Ben Lukecart, Jacob Matz and Sarah Matz; sister, Char (Vern) Schmidt; sister-in-law, Carol Iverson; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. Memorial Service 3 PM Sun., September 20 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 8400 France Ave. S., Bloomington. Visitation 2 PM and reception following service. Memorials preferred and will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Cremation Society of MN (952-924-4100).
