Obituary of Richard Jefferson Otto

Richard “Rich” Jefferson Otto, age 61, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, after a brave and courageous fight against cancer, passed away on September 22. Rich was born on October 29, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Don Henry Otto and Jessie Waters (Brydon) Otto. Rich graduated from Sartell High School, and graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Rich worked for a number of companies in the accounting/finance field, including GE Capital, NCS Pearson, and most recently as a consultant with Certes Financial Pros. He loved riding motorcycles with his brother and nephew, cross country motorcycle trips, the great outdoors, hunting and fishing, music - both listening to it and playing his guitar, golf, and playing card games with family and friends. Rich was the family expert on technology and was always helping his siblings understand how to make the most of it. Rich was preceded in death by his mother Jessie, his father Don, and his brother-in-law Lee Stalwick. He is survived by his brother Jim Otto of Hanover; his sister and brother-in-law Liz (Otto) and Gary Ochs of Carlsbad, California; his sister Kathy (Otto) Stalwick of Carlsbad, California; his nephew and his spouse Jason and Ashley (Eddis) Stalwick of Prior Lake; his niece and her husband Jessie and Mauricio Stalwick Rojas of Richfield; his nephew Jimmy Otto of Plymouth/Hanover; and his four legged canine nephews and niece Jasper, King, Gusty and Star. Rich will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. A kind and gentle soul taken too soon. The family will have a private service for Rich.
