Obituary of Margaret Leef
Margaret (Sam) J. Leef, 70, South Range, left us on Oct. 22, 2015 in her home with her children by her side after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1944 in Superior to Joseph and Nora Kotera.
Sam enjoyed four wheeling, camping, cooking, crafts and traveling with family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband Robert Leef; her parents Joseph and Nora Kotera; and brother Robert Kotera.
Sam is survived by her dog, Rusty, which she called her baby; three daughters, Robyn Russell, Superior, Roberta Apfel, Rhinelander, Wis., Renee Lau, South Range; one son, Ronald Leef, South Range; two granddaughters, Ashley Russell, Danielle Russell, Superior; three grandsons, Dakota Apfel, Terry Apfel and Cade Schumacher of Rhinelander, Wis.; one brother, Charlie Kotera, Superior; five sisters, Bessie Rehl, Peru, Ind., Ruby Launderville, Superior, Mary Strovik, Burlington, Wis., Rose Atkinson, Oak Creek, Wis. and Florence Webster, Superior.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Friday and the staff at Essentia Health Hospice for their loving care and concern.
Per Sam's wishes, no public services will be held.
There will be a celebration of life in her honor 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Town of Superior Hall, 4917 South State Hwy 35, Superior.
Following the celebration, anyone that wishes to join her family for a toast in her memory can join them at the Infield Bar.
