Obituary of Paul James Svenvold
SVENVOLD, Paul James, age 59, passed away Saturday, October 24th, 2015 while at home. Passed away on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 while at home in Maple Grove.
Paul was born on October 22, 1956 in St. Paul, MN as the only son of Ernest and Maisel Svenvold. He graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1975, after which he worked on his Uncle Donald's farm in Bloomfield, MT for a few years. In 1977, he hired on with BN Railway in Laurel, MT, where he met the girl in his dream, Gwendolyn Roberts. They married on February 5, 1983 in Billings, MT. In 1988, Paul transferred with BN to the Fridley switchyards where he was employed for several years. He later worked at the Plymouth office of Coldwell Banker Burnett. In 1998, Paul and Gwendolyn moved to Maple Grove and later purchased Somerset Mini Storage with a partner in 2006. Paul enjoyed pulling practical jokes, mountain hiking, catching fish, cribbage and Savoy's Pizza. He was a dedicated father to several dogs, especially Bear, Samantha and Max. He is survived by his dream girl of 32 years, Gwendolyn; mother, Maisel of New Hope, MN; sister, Karen (Robert) Prochazka of Delhi, IA; niece, Kimberly Berg-Olson of Urbandale, IA, several cousins, other relatives and good friends. At Paul's request, no flowers please. Memorial Gathering 2-7pm Sunday, November 1st at East Fish Lake Park Pavillion, 14900 Bass Lake Rd, Maple Grove, Minnesota (763) 694-7818 with a Time of Sharing around 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Ruff Start Rescue www.ruffstartrescue.org, or the charity of donor's choice in memory of Paul.
