Obituary of William L. Madsen

Madsen, William Lavern At the age of 71, William "Bill" Madsen of Excelsior, Minnesota and Sun City West, Arizona, died peacefully on November 3rd, 2015 in the loving arms of his son, Dan Madsen and wife, Amy. Bill is survived by his son Dan (Amy) Madsen; grandson, Donovan Madsen; granddaughter, Dana Madsen; and his sisters Mary Nystrom; Carol Anderson (Tim); Linda Johnson (Lon); June Cooper (Geff), and a host of family and friends, who have served as family, for many years. Bill spent his life committed to loving and serving others, choosing education as a career educating PHD candidates at the University of St. Thomas. In retirement, Bill served the congregation at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church by directing their scholarship programs; volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and the food shelf in his free time. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church on Friday, November 6th, 2015.
