Obituary of Yvonne M. Ferris

Ferris, Yvonne Marie (nee Freund) Age 78, of Minneapolis, passed away Nov. 7, 2015. Preceded in death by husband Joseph A. Ferris, brothers Richard and William Freund, and sister Dolores Freund-Lambert. She is survived by daughters JoAnne Ferris (Steve Mayer) Elise (Bill) Esper and Christina Ferris-Peck. She was a doting grandmother to Katelyn, Colin and James (Kortney) Esper and Griffin and Camryn Peck--enthusiastically attending their many school plays, recitals and choral concerts along with Pam Person, her niece/housemate. Pam was her "Guardian Angel" in the last few years, helping her stay in her home and remain as independent as possible. Yvonne was well-known to the family as a wonderful chef, often making a recipe from her French grandmother Elise Giguere's for pork dressing at Thanksgiving and Christmas. There were never any leftovers. Yvonne worked for 25 years as a payroll analyst at Honeywell, retiring in 1997. She and husband Joe loved jazz and enjoyed many concerts, particularly jazz cruises in the Caribbean. They spent winters in their Miami Beach home, and summers up north at "Tranquility," their home in the woods for many years following retirement. Yvonne's last several years were spent in her townhome in Apple Valley. Family and friends are invited to gather for Visitation between 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, Nov. 29th. The Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a light luncheon until 5:00 pm. Location: Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4343 Nicollet Ave. So., Minneapolis, MN 55409 - Ph: (612) 825-2435.
