Obituary of Tina Donchetz
A beacon of grace, strength, generosity and love for 46 years, Tina Petersen Donchetz, of Savage, passed away on November 25, suddenly and unexpectedly, from complications of lymphoma. Tina devoted her life to her husband and soulmate of 25 years, Jay, and to her daughters, the joys of her life, Dani, Georgi, and Charli. She is also survived by her parents Svend and Grethe Petersen, brothers Michael and John (Jessie), and sister Linda Jacobsen (Scott), who will miss her deeply, as will her large and beloved extended family. With an endearing quick wit and fun-loving personality, Tina brought perspective, wisdom and a "let's do this" attitude to her many community endeavors, supporting her children's schools and sports teams, working at Inside Edge, Flavor, and the Danish-American Center, which reflected her passion for her family's Danish heritage. Though lymphoma was an unwelcome companion for many years, Tina exuded an optimistic and forward-looking spirit, and loved new challenges. There was no task Tina, teamed with Jay, didn't welcome. A dynamic duo, their arrival on any scene was truly magical. The busier the better, Tina was that "go to person," up for anything at anytime, whether it be late-night cards, a fundraiser, a neighborhood gathering, a family adventure. Whether coordinating a large event or preparing and sharing with countless guests delicious and beautifully presented dishes in their home, Tina made it all look so easy. In short, Tina made everyone's day better. She was a woman everyone admired and loved to be next to, feeling her loving presence. Tina leaves an irreplaceable hole in the lives of her family and friends, who wonder how to go on without her. Heartfelt thanks to Tina's medical team at the Mayo Clinic, and to the Fairview Ridges and U Hospital staff who cared for her during her last day. A memorial honoring Tina will be scheduled at a later date.
