Obituary of Mary R Holter

Mary R. (Saporito) Holter, 92, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at Golden Oaks Assisted Living facility, in Proctor. Mary Rose Elizabeth was born Nov. 3, 1923 in Duluth, to Filipo and Mariantonia (DelMonico) Saporito. Mary was raised in the Duluth neighborhood of "Little Italy." On July 6, 1946, Mary was united in marriage to Robert Holter in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Duluth. Mary and Bob had a wonderful life together for the past 69 years. They lived in the Duluth Heights and had a cabin on Island Lake and in both places, did a lot of great entertaining for family and friends. Mary was known for putting on quite a "spread" with her great Italian Cuisine. Mary was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duluth. Her family was very important to her as well as her faith. Mary longed to be with her family in heaven for a very long time. She is now surrounded with all love and all peace. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Anthony, Philip and Joseph and sister, Catherine Watsick. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert; a son, Gary Holter; grandchildren, Gary (Lisa) Holter, Tami (Cary) Zahn, Rob (Vee) Holter, Tracie (Shaun) Valla, Daniel Holter, Nathan Holter, Hollyann Holter and Elly Holter; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that loved "Auntie Mary" very much.
