Obituary of Odean Henry Hokenson

Odean Henry Hokenson, age 89, died peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the MVHC Gardenview Nursing Home in Le Sueur, MN. He was born on March 1, 1926 at Hettinger, ND. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, in 1953. He was a tiling contractor for 20 years. He loved singing in the church choir and with the Mankato Riverblenders. Odean is survived by his wife Myrtle of 65 years, daughters Becky Hokenson and Beth Terpstra and two sons, Dan and David, all residing in the Twin Cities; two brothers, Dick Hokenson of Houston, TX, and Rodney Hokenson of Adrian, Ml and one sister, Helen Watkins of Fergus Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ebba (Berg) Hokenson, one daughter, Miriam (Mimi) Langsjoen, four sisters and two brothers. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church, Le Sueur, on Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will take place at a later date at the East Union Lutheran Church Cemetery, Carver, MN. Memorials preferred to the family.
