Obituary of Solvei Louise Slick

Solvei Louise (Nelson) Slick, 89 years young, left this earth at Lake Minnetonka Shores Care Center on Dec 5, 2015 at 7:05pm in Spring Park, MN where she was lovingly surrounded by relatives and a band of caring angels. Solvei was born October 18, 1926 in the little blue house on the corner in Lake Mills, Iowa. She is survived by her loving children Mark (Cathy) Slick, Karla (Charles) Harriman; 4 beautiful grandkids Sarah (Cameron), Kalen (Brandon) , Stafford (Julie) and Graham (Alannah); sister-in-law Betty Nelson and many wonderful nieces nephews and cousins. Solvei was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years Bernard M Slick, papa Christian K Nelson, momma Hannah Marie Halvorson, twin sisters Gertrude and Lillian Nelson, Esther (John) Mc Dermid and brother Joseph Nelson. Her Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Lake Minnetonka Shores Chapel, 4515 Shoreline Drive in Spring Park, MN on Monday December 28, 2015 with visitation from 9 to 10:30 am followed by a memorial service at 10:30 and then a lunch reception after. Solvei‘s body was cared for by the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina, MN. Memorials may be directed to the compassionate caregivers from Optage Hospice and/or Presbyterian Home Services to purchase a garden bench in Solvei’s memory at LMS where she lived the last 2 years with declining dementia and heart issues
