Obituary of Charles David Vane

Vane, Charles David (Chuck) of Maple Grove and Minnetonka, age 82, passed away peacefully early Christmas Eve morning, his favorite day of the year. Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ida (Johnson) Vane; infant daughter, Terry Ann Vane; brother, Russell Vane; sister, Irene Thacher; and his beloved pup, Morgan. Survived by his wife, Lanier (Anderson); son, David Sr and wife Marla (Minne-tonka); and daughter, Carol and partner Terry Ziman (Maple Grove). Also survived by his cherished grandchildren, David Vane Jr, Maranda Vane, and T.J. Ziman; sister-in-law, Alice Vane (Edina/ Rosemount); honorary son, Terry Wellen (Maple Grove); and honorary grandsons, Darian Clark Wellen and Joey Geary Simmons (Sioux City, Ia). Chuck was born on Nov 25, 1933 in Dawson, MN. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked at Jacobsen Machine Works for over 30 years. He loved his family, fishing, watching The Andy Griffith Show, and growing lollipop trees for his grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living and Interim Care (hospice) for the love and comfort given Chuck and Lanier during the past few weeks.
