Obituary of Robert Linegar
Robert Linegar, Minnetonka MN, age 90, passed away on January 4, 2016. Born on a farm in southern Indiana, Bob attended Purdue University and graduated from Tri-State University in Civil Engineering after serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II
He had a distinguished career in the concrete industry in central Indiana as owner of ERMCO Ready Mixed Concrete with plants in Elwood, Tipton, and Alexandria. After selling the business in 1979, Bob retired spending much of each year on Manitoulin Island in Ontario Canada.
An Elwood resident for over sixty years, Bob was active in the local community as an Elder in the Elwood Presbyterian Church and Board of Director Member for Kiwanis, YMCA, Madison County Fund and Elwood Mercy Hospital. Bob was the Founding President of the Mercy Hospital Foundation. He was also active in Elks Lodge #368.
Survived by his beloved wife, Mary, daughter Diane Jack (David), son Steve Linegar, daughter Anita Barnett (Larry), 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Other close family include his brothers J.C. Linegar (Nancy), Dan Linegar (Linda), and his sister Margaret Hinesley (Phil).
His passions included his love of his wife, family, friends, flying his plane, time on Manitoulin Island and Indianapolis Colts football.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 8, 10:00 AM at Presbyterian Homes Beacon Hill, Terrace Building located in Minnetonka, MN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church in Minnetonka.
