Obituary of Richard L. Soderlind
Richard L. Soderlind, 90, of Grand Marais, MN and Tampa, FL, A.K.A. "Mr.Wonderful," died Thursday, January 7th in Edina. Born August 30, 1925, he attended Roosevelt High School, served in the Army Air Force in WWII and married childhood sweetheart, Helen Wellumson. He earned an engineering degree at the U of M and worked at Honeywell, as a consulting engineer, and finally at Wagner Spray-Tech. Dick enjoyed skiing, biking, golfing, walking and especially dancing. His enthusiastic bear hugs were evidence of his great love for family and friends. Dick was preceded in death by wives Helen and Lee, and is survived by life partner, Eileen Thiers, sons Steven (Ann), David and Paul, and daughters Ann Mershon (Jerry Wilkes) and Laura Gillund (Rob), 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grand-children. Services at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Edina, on February 6th at 11:00 with visitation at 10:00. Memorials to the N.C. Little Hospice, the American Cancer Society, or the Johnson's Heritage Post in Grand Marais.
