Obituary of Karl F. Leupold
Karl F. "Bud" Leupold, of Edina, has passed away at age 90 following a long illness. He was the son of Karl Sr. and Lucille Siebert Leupold of Columbus, Ohio. Karl graduated from Bexley High School and in 1943 followed the call to arms into the U.S. Army providing artillery support across Belgium, France, and Germany. Following his service, Karl attended Ohio State University, where as a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, graduated with a pharmacy degree. He applied his trade both as a pharmacist and salesman advancing to management with Geigy Pharmaceuticals, now known as Novartis Corp. He was an ardent supporter of the University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy, and the Minnesota Pharmaceutical Assoc. Karl was a longtime member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina where a private memorial service will be held. Back in 1951 he married Barbara Jo Werner and enjoyed 50-plus years happiness, at home in Ohio and Minnesota. Together, they were wonderful providers for 5 children: Lance (Cheryl), Wayne (Karen), Karla, Glenn (Miriam) & Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his beloved "Barbie". Along with his children, Karl is survived by his little sister "Peg", his 6 grandchildren: Margaret, Erin, Elizabeth, Ryan, Eli & Oliver, nephew Bob and nieces Patty and Sharon. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington for years of quality care. We can now but remember "The Greatest Generation."
