Obituary of Shirley Ann Lee
Shirley Ann Lee, 80, completed her baptismal journey on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by family.
Shirley was born March 11, 1935 in Duluth, to Charles and Lucille Kmieciak.
She grew up in Duluth and graduated from Central High School in 1954. She also attended and graduated from DBU. After raising her children she worked for Girl Scouts of America. Her love of children led her to open a daycare where after many years she retired. She was active in Job's Daughters as a young girl, and became Bethel Guardian as an adult. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was Worthy Matron along side her husband Bernard who was Worthy Patron.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and son Terry Whetstone.
She is survived by her husband Bernard of 51 years; her daughter Cindy Neumann; sons Wade Whetstone, Rodney Whetstone, Scott Whetstone, Bernard (Lisa) Lee Jr.; step-daughter Alison Roberts; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister Merelyn (Rolland) Freeman, and many nieces and nephews.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 3 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 26, 2016 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave Duluth. Glenn Lee will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Gideon's International P.O.
