Obituary of Robert Olson

Robert "Bob" Olson, 82, of Superior, Wis., passed away Tuesday, March 1 , 2016 at home. Bob was born July 13, 1933 in Cloquet, Minn., the son of Axel and Ethel Olson. He attended Denfeld High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he met the love of his life, Ann, while stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. Bob worked and retired from Diamond Tool. Bob enjoyed camping and fishing and he was a gifted musician, playing the string bass for various bands in the 60s. Bob is preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Howard and Edward. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann and nine children; sons, Bob (Ann Marie), Don (Barb), Jim (Marina), Jerry (Heidi), Dale (Nikki); daughters, Cheri (Marc) Henne, Linda (Jerry) Kall, Carol (Pat) Rooney, Holly (Dave) Haugen; sister, Sheila Samarzia; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. MEMORIAL MASS: 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Cathedral of Christ the King, 1410 Baxter Ave., Superior, WI 54880. In lieu of flowers memorials will be appreciated.
