Obituary of Gretchen Marie McGillivray

Gretchen (Nina) Marie McGillivray age 93 passed away peacefully on March 20, 2016 at St. Luke’s hospital in Duluth surrounded by her family. Nina was a lifelong resident of Duluth, MN. Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister. Gretchen is survived by her husband of 52 years, William McGillivray. Daughters Sandra Kendall, Judith Kolenda, Karen Kinsmen, Lynda Hebert-Johnson, and Dana Janke. Gretchen is also survived by one son, Steven Johnson. Gretchen is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Gretchen will be missed by so many people, it is impossible to list all those who were a part of her life. The family also would like to thank friends and extended family for their support. The McGillivray family wants to thank St. Luke’s hospital for the great care they took with our beloved mother and to everyone who took a moment to offer a kind word, we are most grateful. In honor of our beloved Mother’s wishes, there will be no service or memorial. We will remember Gretchen, as a most beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. God speed to Heaven mom.
