Obituary of Cathlene Harlan Lane

Age 76, of Mpls., passed away on March 30, 2016 after her fight with dementia and bone cancer. Preceded in death by husband, Richard Amundsen Lane; father, Kenneth Edward Harlan; father and mother-in-law, Einar and Dorothy (Myers) Lane; daughter-in-law Tracy (Trotto) Lane. Survived by her five children, Michael Lane, Daniel Lane, Nancy (Brent) Fristedt, Jennifer (Daniel) Jaspersen and Mary Lane; 8 grandchildren, Andrea, Austin, Alec, Amanda, Kelly (Lane) Parrish, Zack, Julia Fristedt, Laura (Fristedt) Novak and step-grandson Timothy Jaspersen; 1 great-grandchild, Mia Parrish; mother, Carmel Marie Harlan; sisters Ann (John) Conser, Mary Zubrzycki, Elizabeth Harlan and brother Mark Harlan (Deni Seymour); plus many other relatives and friends. Cathy was an avid reader and loved to learn new things. After raising five children she graduated from community college with an Associate’s Degree in English, managed a bookstore, opened her own business selling used books, had some original written works published and sold real estate. While living in Texas with her husband she managed the gift shop at the local hospital. She was also an accomplished knitter and created some original designs.
