Obituary of Ida Stein

Ida Lou (Lyseng) Stein, 84 passed away peacefully in her sleep November 15, 2024 at 1:25 am at The Tender Hearts Assisted Living in Blackduck, MN. 

Ida was born February 16, 1940 to Carl and Lorraine (Evans) Lyseng at their home in Pinewood, MN.  Ida loved reminiscing of her growing up years from Pinewood, Mn, Trout Creek, MT and Bemidji MN. 

In 1958, Ida graduated from The Bemidji High School.  She married James Stein in August of 1959.  They moved from Bemidji, MN to Montana while Jim was attending BSU, they lived in Grand Rapids, MN then moved back to Bemidji, MN in 1963-64, just prior to the birth of their daughter, Carrie. 

Ida worked for Dr. Nelson as a Chiropractic Assistant for 13 years and in 1977  Ida furthered her education in Electrolysis/Short Wave at The Kree Institute of Electrolysis in New York City, NY. 

In 1983, Ida moved to The Quad Cities....there she continued to further her education at the Sharon Doran Academy of Science and Hair Design graduating in 1986.  Also, in 1989, she graduated from the La James College of Skin Care and Make-up Specialist. 

Ida moved back to Bemidji, MN in 1989, she worked as a Electrologist and at the Bemidji Clinic for many years.  She semi-retired and continued to work part-time as a beautician until “80” years old at The Havenwood Care Center. 

Ida was recognized for her tasteful fashion of clothing and accesories, her charm and beauty.  She was loved and well thought of by many in her community and will be missed. 

Ida is survived by her daughter Carrie (Hilton) Bradseth, grandchildren; Jason Bradseth and Lindsey Bradseth.  Her brothers; Rolland Lyseng and Sam Lyseng, sisters; Joan (Mitch Knutson) and Teri Lyseng.  Also, by many family and friends whom she adored all of her life. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands and granddaughter Amber Bradseth.  Her brothers; Lawrence Lyseng, Dale Lyseng and her nephew Scott Lyseng.  Ida is in heaven with her dog Bella, who was like her child for 14 years.  

There will be a Celebration of Life honoring Ida Lou (Lyseng) Stein December 28, 2024 from 11 am to 2 pm at The Eagles Club of Bemidji, MN.  Ida's family hopes to see you there.
