Obituary of Dean Scott Boris
Dean Scott Boris was born July 21st, 1964 to Butch and Bev Boris. Dean passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 16th, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Dean was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, and friend to so many. Dean grew up in Milan, WI and later moved to Bloomington, MN, where he lived the rest of his life.
It was the simple things in life that brought Dean the most joy, including; deer hunting, fishing/ice fishing, playing cards or dominos with his family, snuggling and playing with his grandkids, hosting large campfires with family, friends, and strangers alike, 80’s music (especially hair bands) and he was always game for a pontoon cruise. He loved the outdoors just as much as he loved those around him. His larger-than-life personality and generous nature touched everyone who crossed paths with him. Dean was capable of making friends with anyone in a room, as well as, lighting it up with his positive and upbeat attitude. “Every day that I wake up and the sun is shining, it’s a good day” is a sentiment he shared with many, especially during his cancer journey.
Dean deeply loved his wife Chris, recently celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary. Together they shared their life with their children Kasey Boris (Zach Kaufman) and Zach Boris. Dean was a proud and loving papa to their grandchildren Zoella and Zaiden Kaufman. Dean is also survived by his parents Butch and Bev Boris, mother-in-law Mary Ann Meyer, brother Duane (Amy) Boris, sister DeAnn (Jamey) Handschke, brother-in-law Nathan (Heather) Meyer, sister-in-law Carla Boris (Dave Kermode), ten nieces and nephews, and two great-nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his brother David Boris, his father-in-law Charles Meyer and many loving grandparents.
A Celebration of Dean’s Life will be held at the Dan Patch American Legion in Savage Minnesota on December 14th, 2024 from 3-6 p.m.
Dean’s family would like to express their deep thanks and gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Givens Brain Tumor Center, Allina Infusion Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, and the Allina Hospice team for their great care and support during Dean’s entire cancer journey.
