Obituary of Patricia Ann Augdahl
Patricia Ann Augdahl, age 94, of St Paul, MN passed away peacefully at Alton Nursing Home in St Paul on All Soul’s Day, November 2, 2024. Patricia was born on St Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1930, in Dent, Minnesota, the second of five children to Ed and Ann (Honer) Stoll. She graduated from Perham High School in 1948 and moved to St Paul to live with her beloved aunt and uncle, Oscar and Emma (Honer) Johnson. She graduated from Miss Wood’s Kindergarten-Primary Training School at Macalester College in 1950 and began a career she loved, teaching. She taught grade school in several towns including Waite Park, Crosby-Ironton, St Cloud, Wadena, and Lake Owasso. Patricia was united in marriage to Duane Augdahl in 1961 and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and cared deeply for her family and friends. She discovered a special talent with young children, spending several years as a nursery schoolteacher at various locations including her own home in Highland Park, from 1973-1976, 16 years at Macalester Plymouth Nursery School and eventually at Bloomington Child Development. After retiring in 1999 she found that her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She made them the center of her world and they loved being with her. She was known as being a great listener, extremely patient, sensitive, selfless, joyful, and funny. Our lives would not be the same without her. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Louis (Mary) Stoll, Gloria (Joseph) Basille, and Janet (Duane) Rayle; sisters-in-law Marion Stoll and Mary Ann (Mark) Stoner. She is survived by her sons Edward and Lon (Geny); beloved brother Eugene Stoll; four grandchildren, Alan, Giselle, Alisa, and Lucia; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Alton Nursing Home and Brighton Hospice for the excellent and attentive care they provided. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for family at Lumen Christi Catholic Church in St Paul followed by interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
