It is with sorrow and love that we bid farewell to Patricia (McDonough) Soroka, who peacefully passed away at the age of 85 in Edina, Minnesota. Pat was raised in Waldorf, MN, and carried the warmth of her hometown with her as she journeyed through life.

Pat’s life was a testament to the power of education and the beauty of adventure. She had a special knack for mentoring children, always a champion of their potential and future. Her teaching career took her on a journey to Venezuela that enriched her understanding and appreciation for the world, adding to the tapestry of stories that she shared with loved ones.

In her later years, Pat enjoyed a life of travel, gardening, reading, thrifting and supporting her ‘young ones’ at school and sporting events. Her cabin on the Mississippi river was a special gathering spot for those she loved. In every endeavor, Patricia remained a staunch defender of democratic values and an unwavering advocate for children. She was known for her fierce independence and her commitment to the causes she believed in.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Jane (Greg) Husnik, and grandson, Henry Husnik, along with countless family and friends who will continue to carry her legacy forward.
