Obituary of Lorraine Paoletti Pollard
Lorraine Paoletti Pollard, 93, passed away peacefully on September 25 after a long and fulfilling life. She was born on August 24, 1931 in Duluth, Minnesota to Adolph and Evelyn (Wright) Paoletti, along with her sister Louise. Lorraine grew up in Duluth, graduating from Denfeld High School.
Lorraine and her husband Theodore (Ted) started dating in high school, were married in 1950, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage together. Lorraine joined Ted in the Minneapolis Public School System as an administrative assistant in 1965 and worked there until her retirement. As a family with their three children, Lorraine and Ted traveled all over the United States and Europe, instilling a love of travel and culture that would carry on to their grand- and great-grandchildren.
After retirement, Lorraine and Ted moved back to Duluth. They continued traveling together, as well as enjoying time with their grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lorraine was a proud participant in the Lake Superior Freethinkers and enjoyed reading, word puzzles and classical music.
Lorraine is survived by her three children: Laura (Gregory) Halldin, Dennis (Sandi) Pollard and Sara (Terry) Buehler; grandchildren Jeff (MaryBeth) Halldin, Andy (Amber) Halldin, Charlie Pollard, Gina Pollard, Martha (William) Buehler-Sullivan and Elizabeth (Lucas) Buehler Meyer; and three great grandchildren, Pierce and Kellen Halldin, and Claire Pollard. She is predeceased by her parents Adolph and Evelyn, sister Louise Taraldsen and husband Ted.
A memorial service will take place in Duluth at a later date.
