Kathy was born and raised in Duluth, where she graduated from Central High School in 1964. She furthered her education in accounting at a business college in Minneapolis, which paved the way for her long and dedicated career. Kathy spent 40 years at Gartner Refrigeration, where she was a pivotal figure, humorously claiming she ran the place despite not owning it. She retired in 2012, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism mixed with warmth.

Beyond her professional life, Kathy was deeply involved in her community and faith. She was a devoted member of Elim Lutheran Church, participating actively in the Elizabeth Circle and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA).

Kathy's personal life was rich with relationships and hobbies. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Lisa" and son-in-law Stacy Van Doren; her cherished grandson James Dale "JD" Van Doren; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Amy Wilson; sister-in-law, Mary Wilson; nieces, Laura (Bill) Jones and Kristy (Wells) McGiffert; and nephews, Michael and Edward Wilson. Her family and a host of incredible friends will dearly miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Carmella (Cherro) Wilson; her brothers, James and Lynn Wilson; and sister, Patricia (Wilson) Burke.

Kathy enjoyed playing bingo, bunco, and solving puzzles. She cherished the summers spent camping at Timberline Campground with her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

A memorial service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held at Elim Lutheran Church on November 16th, 2024, at 12:30 pm, preceded by a visitation at 11:30 am. A luncheon will follow the service, where friends and family can continue to share memories of Kathy.

Kathy's life was a testament to the power of community, faith, and love. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
