He grew up in Columbia Heights, MN with his brother and two sisters. Scott graduated from Columbia Heights High School and then attended Brown Institute. From an early age Scott was an electronics whiz kid. When seven years old he built a motorized robot from spare parts he found on his dad’s workbench. He continued his interest in robots throughout his life collecting thousands of them.

He was fascinated with 3-D printing, intrigued by all facets including coding, design and construction. He was always creating various projects for himself and family.
