Obituary of Derek R Walczak

Derek R. Walczak, 41, of Duluth, tragically passed away October 7, 2024

Derek graduated from Duluth East in 2002; Lake Superior College in 2006  and worked as a plumber for Shubitz Plumbing.

Derek enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family, golfing, camping and hunting.  Most of all just hanging out with his 3 dogs.

Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents Bernard (Bob) and Mary Walczak; Richard and Agnes Hellesvig along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Derek is survived by his parents Robert “Bob” and Carol (Hellesvig) Walczak, brother Kyle, sister-in-law Ashley, nieces Charlee and Kylee, nephew soon to be born. Also, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His three canine best buddies: Duke, Daisy and Dixie.

Derek will be greatly missed by all of us along with his many, many friends.

We would like to thank: Brit, Dan, Tyler, Jago, Opie and Heidi for taking Derek’s dogs and helping with Derek’s house. Along with the many others who have helped us through this difficult time.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 1, 2024 with visitation at 10:00 and service at 11:00
