Obituary of LaDonna Jean Garland

LaDonna Jean Garland, 77 , passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 24, 2024.

She was a resident of Riley Crossing Memory Care in Chanhassen, MN where she was lovingly taken care of for the last year of her life. LaDonna was born on July 11, 1947 in Rainelle, WV to Margaret Louise Smith and Garland Edward Smith. LaDonna graduated in 1965 from Rainelle High School where she was a cheerleader. She married John Garland in 1966 and they had three girls. LaDonna lived in Warren, Ohio for almost 50 years.  She was a stay at home Mom and devoted housewife.  LaDonna was a volunteer at Trumbull Memorial hospital for 30 years. She was a member of Howland Community Church where she served many roles for the congregation and volunteered many hours to women’s fellowship.  She was also a member of PEO.  LaDonna’s sense of humor, loyal friendship and fashion sense were well known to those around her.  She loved to travel, shop and play cards with her family.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Spitler, her three daughters Lisa (Jeff) Hutchinson, Marcy (Butch) Curtis and Bethany (Bob) Biesterfeld and her three grandkids, Maya Hutchinson, Celia Biesterfeld and Jace Biesterfeld, whom she adored.

LaDonna had a kind and generous heart and appreciated the small things in life.  She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed!  We will be celebrating her life after the holidays.

Please join us Friday December 27th at Howland Community Church. Family and friends may visit from 4-5:00pm with a service to follow.
