Obituary of George Cross

 George J.Cross, age 88,passed away at Waterview Shores in Two Harbors, Mn. On October 20,2024.  He was born on March 22,1936 in Superior, WI.

He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Toboleski, half sister Virginia Toboleski, brother-in-law Ray Buetow, Grandsons Brandon in 1991 and Cole in 2024; also very special aunts and cousins in Wisconsin.

George will be remembered by his wife Carol of 65 years, having married on Jan 24, 1959.  Also his children, daughter Pamela (Terry Danielson), son Steve (Candy), son Rick (Vali), daughter Kimberly (Bob Schluter), along with 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, all of whom George always said was his “beautiful family”.

George joined the Army at age 17 and served for 2 years.  He met Carol in 1957 and married in 1959.  They lived in Minneapolis where he worked at Ware Mfg. machine shop for 9 years, later began driving truck as a Teamster  within the Twin Cities area for 20 years.  He and Carol were able to retire early in 1988.  They moved back “up  north” but spent 11 winters in Arizona.  In 2012 they moved to Moose Lake where they made their current home.

Private family services will be held on Friday November 1, 2024 at the Minnesota State  Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw, Mn., where he will be given military honors and inurnment
