Obituary of Scott Matykiewicz

Age 68, is flying with the eagles he so loved. He passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Residence. He fought an incredibly brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents (Myrna and Skip Matykiewicz) and grandparents (Kay and Gibby Graff), as well as by George, his Yorkie and constant companion. Scott was an excellent auto mechanic, working at shops around the Twin Cities as well as running his own business. He collected American Eagle statues, which were donated to Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Centre. He also worked plowing snow with his friend Jim, and enjoyed target shooting with his friend Scott. He was beloved around his neighborhood, always willing to lend a hand. Scott is survived by his sister Deb (Jim) Neary, aunt Gayle (Al) Spannbauer, nephew John (Katie) Neary, niece Erin (Patrick Hunter) Neary, and grand-nieces Ashlyn and Teagan Neary, as well as many cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00pm at the Cremation Society of MN, 1979 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul.
