Joni Lynn Dorfman, age 67, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024. Born in Duluth, MN on June 6, 1957 to Carol Stevens and John Michaelson, Joni was the youngest of three daughters.
Joni dedicated over twenty-five years to a career at the Duluth paper mill, all while being a devoted mother. Her greatest joy came from her children, Andrea and Cullen, whom she felt were her biggest accomplishments in life. Joni was a talented stain glass artist, an avid gardener and an aviator who held her Private Pilot License. Comstock Lake was Joni’s most cherished retreat, filled with treasured memories shared with family and friends. Known for her warmth and infectious laughter, Joni was a loyal friend and the glue of her lifelong friendships. Joni’s most remarkable gift was the love she shared with everyone around her.
She is loved and missed by her children Andrea (Daniel) Pegg and Cullen (Aili) Dorfman, grandchildren Jaxson, Isla, Della, and Rowen, honorary children Zachary (Chelsea) Dorfman, Wil (Nadja) Dorfman, Morgan (Sean) Morgan, honorary grandchildren Levi, Winnie, Shea, Rory, Jack, her sisters Diane (Ken) Kuechler and Susan (Chris) Del Priore, her niece, nephew, great-niece, great-nephews, and many lifelong best friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carol and Joseph Stevens, biological father John Michaelson, nephew Marc Langdon, and niece Janelle Langdon.
The family will be having a celebration of life for Joni on Saturday, November 30th at 2:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge; 1503 Belknap Street, Superior, WI 54880.
