Obituary of Lindsay Sue Smith

Lindsay Sue Smith passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 9, 2024. She was 41 years old and a resident of Minneapolis. Lindsay was born on May 20, 1983 and was a loving daughter of Carolyn Fahrenkrog Smith and Terry Smith and a loving sister of Chad Smith and Nathan Smith.

Lindsay graduated with honors from South High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota in June of 2001.  While in high school Lindsay was a soccer cheerleader and  competed in women's gymnastics. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in May of 2006.  Lindsay's passion was working with troubled and homeless youth.   She was employed by Youth Link in Minneapolis for 12 years and also worked for Omegon and Hope Street.

Besides loving her work with homeless youth, Lindsay loved spending time with her fur babies (Opal, Raven, Roger and Albert) and adored her niece Hazel. Lindsay also enjoyed watching gymnastics, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, dancing, and singing at the top of her lungs! Lindsay was a loving and loyal friend to many, and loved and was loved by her many cousins, aunts and uncles. Lindsay was small but mighty and she lit up the room when she entered!
She touched many lives and will be missed.

Lindsay was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orlin and Lila Fahrenkrog and Fred and Veronica Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her Uncle Rick Smith and beloved dog Opal.

Lindsay is survived by her parents Carolyn and Terry Smith of Minneapolis, brother Chad Smith (Michele Hervey) of Minneapolis and Nathan Smith (Simone Jacobs-Dwyer) and niece Hazel Jacobs-Smith of Denver, Colorado.

A reception honoring Lindsay will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 4-7pm at Minnesota Cremation Society, 7110 France Av S, Edina, Mn.  A short service will take place at 6pm.
