Obituary of Christopher David Olson

Christopher David Olson, age 53, passed away on October 2, 2024, in Minneapolis, MN. Born on May 27, 1971, in Houston, TX to Ken and Birdie Olson, Chris was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a devoted husband to Jenny, and a loving father to Caden and Parker.

Chris grew up in a loving home in Burnsville where he graduated from high school and later earned his BA in Biology from Luther College in Decorah, IA. Chris's career spanned various roles, from his cherished time as a counselor at YMCA Camp Miller to learning construction from his uncle, Mark Olson. He built a fulfilling career, dedicating over 20 years with The Home Depot in management. He truly enjoyed his role and the hundreds of people he worked with over the years. This is also where he met his wife and perfect match, Jenny Wall, and they married in 2009.

Outside of work, Chris was a true fan of Prince and had a profound love for music. As an avid movie buff, he often enjoyed attending new releases with his family, his father, or even on his own. Chris cherished his family deeply, relishing in quality time spent on their annual spring trips to Florida and as an enthusiastic supporter at his children's sporting events.

Chris is survived by his wife, Jenny; children, Caden and Parker; parents, Ken and Birdie Olson; sister, Carly (Will) Hand; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; uncle, Mark Degner; and his beloved dog, Action.

A memorial service will be held on October 18, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale, MN, with visitation one hour prior. A celebration of life will follow at Wicked Wort Brewing Company from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Parker Olson's college fund are appreciated. Chris's legacy of joy, dedication, and love will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
