Obituary of Gerald F. Hennessy

Hennessy, Gerald F. Age 89 of Deephaven, Minnesota passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 25. Gerry was born in Wayzata, Minnesota and spent a happy childhood on Lake Minnetonka boating, sailing, and swimming. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in business administration and worked for Honeywell for over 37 years. In retirement and his wife enjoyed boating on Lake Minnetonka and traveling to Florida and Arizona. He loved his sports and spent many hours deciphering the latest woes of the Minnesota sports teams. A lover of the outdoors, he took his sometimes reluctant wife and four children on many camping journeys to the great American West and taught his children an appreciation of nature. Though quiet about his spiritual beliefs, they were deeply held and sustained him through his difficult journey of the last few months. He is predeceased by his wife Nancy and survived by his children Kevin, Katie, Mark, Charlie (Erin) and grandchildren Anna and Meg and many caring friends and relatives. Service will be held at St. David's Church 13000 St. David's Road on Saturday, April 30th, at 11:00 with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. David's Church.
