Obituary of Troy D. Wilson

Troy “”Hooper”” Wilson, at the age of 53 went home to be with Jesus on September 9, 2024. He was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota at age 22 which remained as his final residence.

Though a competitive bodybuilder and weightlifter, Troy was a deeply spiritual man who shared God‘s love with others. He was an inspiration to all who knew him, loved and admired by many. The impact of Troy‘s life will be felt for years to come.

After earning his Master’s Degree from the University of St. Thomas, School of Theology, Troy served as Associate Pastor at Central Baptist Church.

Troy’s Legacy will live on forever through the memories of those who had the opportunity to know him. He will be remembered as a father of strong faith and character, a compassionate brother and an honorable son.

Troy is survived by his parents, Bob Widmeyer and Rachel Wilson; his son Jeremy Day; granddaughters Sophia, Janie Jo Lee, Leyah; sisters Cynthia Hemerson (Douglas), Angela Wilson and Shelli Widmeyer; brothers, Tim Wilson (Venetria), LaDale Widmeyer (Angela) and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to join in Troy’s Memorial and Celebration of Life Service on September 27, 2024 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM at The Train Depot Community Room, 500 N. Buckeye St., Kokomo, IN 46901
