Obituary of Anna Margaret Olson
Anna Margaret Olson, 97, of Culver, passed away on April 26, 2016.
Anna was born on March 24, 1919, in Duluth, to Earl and Doris (Richter) Johnson.
When she was a child the family moved to Culver, where she attended Alborn School. On Sept. 20, 1941, Anna married Lester Bernard Olson. Together the couple lived in Alborn, Wahpeton, N.D., Barnum, and Grand Marais, before moving back to the Culver area. After Lester's death in 1972, Anna was able to live independently until 2012, when she moved to the Hummingbird Customized Living Home in Meadowlands.
Anna had a great love for her family, gardening, and quilting. She took pride in supplying flowers for Faith Lutheran's altar on Sundays, singing in the choir, being active in the WELCA, and participating in the quilting group. Anna also will be remembered for her love of foster children as she cared for over 70 children during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Doris Johnson; her husband, Lester B. Olson; her sister, Elizabeth (Bette) Klein; her sons, Bernard and Rolf Olson; and her daughter-in-law, Sandra A. Olson.
