Obituary of Richard Antolak, Jr.
On August 03, 2024 (Age 70) Rick ended his journey on earth & entered into heaven. Proceeded in death by parents, Richard Sr & Arlene & Brothers Rory & infant Ronnie. Survived by, Son Chris & siblings, Randy (Sue) Cindy Loso, Robb (Antoinette), Tami Ollila (Dave) Holly (Mike) Ron (Deann) Russ (Shannon). Godchildren, Jeffrey & Elizabeth Johnson, Brock Hagen, Sara Brown, and Christine Tharseo; including many nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
He was an avid outdoorsman spending time with his Son & Brothers on many fishing & hunting trips, enjoying their companionship & memories made in the outdoors. His handyman skills were exercised when he built his cabin at Lake Mille Lacs from the ground floor up. The seed was planted by his Aunt Jean & Uncle Lee while visiting their lake home on Lake Mille Lacs as a young boy for week long stays during the summer. He always treasured his time at Lake Mille Lacs fishing for walleyes, duck hunting, and deer hunting with his Son, Chris and his family & friends.
He enjoyed traveling taking family vacations throughout the U.S. and traveled abroad to London England, Paris France, Canada, and Mexico. He also fulfilled an item on his bucket list when he went on an Alaskan Cruise.
Rick was a Boy Scout Leader for Brooklyn Park Troop #332 and a Coach for Chris’s baseball team and he formed many friendships in the Brooklyn Park community. He helped form the rag-tag little leaguers into the high school team that could truly compete.
Rick was a Machinist for most of his career, working at R.R. Howell Co., Dresser Rand, Caterpillar Paving, & he retired from Metro Hardwoods as a Production Supervisor in 2015. After retirement, he fulfilled his lifelong dream to live on a lake when he bought a home on Cedar Island Lake in Richmond, MN.
Born in Minneapolis, graduated from De LaSalle High School in 1971 & passed away at his home in Richmond, MN.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with a visitation at 10:00 AM. 19921 Nightingale St. NW, Oak Grove, MN. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery immediately following Mass. Lunch to follow in the church hall.
