Obituary of Audrey Ellen Anderson (Grussing)
Audrey Anderson, Age 88, Lakeville, MN, passed away on Saturday, August 10th after a corrageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Audrey was born in September 1935 to George D. and Tetkea (Tebben) Grussing in Clara City, MN. Audrey was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City, MN. She attended Clara City High School and Charles T. Miller School of Nursing. She married her high school sweetheart LuVern Anderson in 1955 at Opdal Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart, MN and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage.
She and Vern were longtime residents of South Minneapolis where they raised their two daughters. Audrey enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to the lake, baking, gardening, and a good cup of coffee and conversation. She enjoyed traveling, especially the many trips to San Francisco and Lake Tahoe that she and Vern took to visit their daughter Penny and son-in-law Mike.
Audrey worked as an LPN for 51 years, retiring at the age of 71. Nursing was her calling. She worked in the ICU at Miller Hospital and in the Memory Care Unit at Mount Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis. After retiring she moved to Bloomington.
Audrey is survived by her two Daughters Wendy (LeRoy) Ferguson and Penny Farmer, Grandson Travis Farmer, and Sister Kay Grussing. She is preceded in death by Husband LuVern Anderson, Son-in-Law Michael Farmer and brother Elwood Grussing.
Memorial service will be held on Monday August 26th at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Hosanna Chapel, 9600 163rd St. W. Lakeville MN - Door 5. Private interment at Opdal Lutheran Church Cemetery.
