Obituary of Gordon Halloran
Gordon Halloran, age 83, died peacefully on July 29, 2024, in hospice care in Minnetonka, MN. He was born on August 7, 1940, in St. Thomas, MN, to Emmett and Dorothy (Moore) Halloran. Following his father's death, he was raised in Le Sueur, Minnesota, and later on attended college at St. John's University.
Gordy taught high school math and coached many sports, first at the Assumption Abbey in Richardton, North Dakota, then at Southwest, South, and Washburn high schools in Minneapolis.
His successful girls' swim teams at Southwest dubbed themselves "Gordy's Gang." Gordon, was a longtime advocate for youth sports, he served as athletic director at South and coached his kids in Eagan and Edina.
Gordy was an avid golfer and euchre player, but much later in life, he found much enjoyment performing on stage in a community theater near his home in Foley, Alabama.
Gordy is survived by his sons Tom (Lynn), Mike (Laura), Steve, and daughter Kathy (Peter) Pascale, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.
No funeral service will be held, but please send memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital are preferred by the family.
