Obituary of Tamela Kay Odenthal
Tamela Kay Odenthal, age 64 of Maple Grove, MN, passed away on August 2nd, 2024. Tami was born in Williston, North Dakota on December 10, 1959 to Richard (Dick) and Lettie Graber. As a child her family moved to Minneapolis where she resided most of her life. She was actively involved in the church growing up, and loved riding horses. She attended Armstrong High School and after graduating, she went on to beauty school where she later opened her own beauty shop in her home.
Tami’s biggest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed being outside, working in her garden and always cherished the beautiful flowers. She enjoyed planning celebrations, birthdays, and events. Tami had a compassionate heart always serving and helping others.
Her time as a beautician was cut short after being diagnosed with cancer in 1998. Tami was a true example of a warrior. She battled many health problems, yet always kept her head up high and trusted the Lord would provide. In true warrior fashion, Tami outlived her diagnosis surviving 24 years longer than expected.
Tami is survived by husband Kelly of 40 years, son JP (Christina), daughter Katie (Zack) Lieberherr, grandchildren Mackenzie, Cora, and Maverick, mother Lettie, and brother Bruce (Denise). Along with many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Graber.
Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 7401 County Road 101, Maple Grove, MN 55311 for a visitation on Monday, September 9 at 10:00 am, service 11:00am, and luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your charity of choice.
