Obituary of Margaret Louise Dauphinais (Phelps)
Margaret “Peggy” Louise (Phelps) Dauphinais, 68, of Parkers Prairie, MN passed away surrounded by her family after a three year battle with transitional cell cancer. Despite this, she left an eternal optimist.
Peggy was born on January 4th, 1956 in Marshall, Minnesota to Ethel K. Phelps and Edward F. Phelps.
Peggy grew up spending summers on Lake Miltona with family and friends. She was an avid water skier. On August 5th 1978, Peggy married Franklin “Jim” Dauphinais. They shared three children, Molly, Anne and Ellen. Peggy counted her greatest accomplishments as her family and children. She was fiercely committed and devoted to supporting them in every endeavor. Peggy was resilient, funny, kind and remained so until her very last day.
Peggy worked in Early Childhood education for forty years. She believed early development was the best way to ensure success for our children and community.
Peggy wanted to express her gratitude to Dr. Lance Pagliaro and his team at Mayo Clinic in Rochester who made her battle with cancer possible, prolonged, and provided her with a great deal of hope.
She is survived by her sister and best friend Nancy Thomas (John) of Lake Miltona, MN, brother Richard Phelps (Carol) and sister, Kate Phelps. Her children: Molly Kenyon (Williams) of Morris, MN, Anne Dauphinais (Alex) of St. Paul, MN and Dr. Ellen Dauphinais of Lisbon, ND. Her grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Quinn and Tennyson. As well as by her nieces and nephews, Nathen Phelps, Sara Phelps, Jason Phelps, Quinton Phelps and John Thomas.
