Gerald (‘Gerry’) Frank Kantor, 82, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, went home to his Savior on July 26, 2024. On March 28, 2024, he suffered a heart attack and cardiac arrest resulting in an anoxic brain injury. After nearly one month at North Memorial Medical Center, he transitioned to palliative care at Covenant Living of Golden Valley. Gerry died peacefully following months of precious time spent with family and friends.

Gerry was born in Minneapolis on January 17, 1942. After graduating from Patrick Henry High School (1960), he enlisted in the USAF and served from 1960-1964. On August 25, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Jean (‘Jeanie’) Marie Hoagberg. They spent a “two-year honeymoon” in Bermuda where Gerry was stationed by the USAF. After finishing his service, he became a first-generation college student at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1972. Gerry was an Accountant for over 55 years, eventually starting his own practice in Maple Grove that he owned and operated for nearly 40 years.

Gerry was a charter member of the Maple Grove Rotary Club and remained actively involved for 34 years. He was longtime member of Olivet Baptist Church, Crystal Evangelical Free Church, Church of the Open Door, and most recently Plymouth Covenant Church. He participated in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) where he made close friends and grew in his faith. Gerry loved the Lord with all his heart and expressed confidence in going to heaven right up until his death. Gerry was a car enthusiast, owning many classic cars including a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury and a limited-edition 2007 Dodge Charger (Hemi) SRT8 Super Bee.
