Obituary of Joanne Sollberger
Joanne H. Sollberger, 86, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital with family by her side.
Jo was born July 9, 1938 to Richard and Mary Erickson in Duluth. She graduated from Duluth East High School. She married Edward J. Sollberger on February 28, 1959. In addition to raising their three children, Jo became an Avon representative and was awarded the President’s Club Honors for four years. Jo worked as an insurance agent at Swanstrom Insurance Agency for 30 years. Jo and Ed enjoyed traveling, camping and always looked forward to “Family Campout”, “Sister Week” and “Sibling Dinner”. She cherished time with her family. Jo was a Breast Cancer Survivor. After the passing of her beloved husband of 53 years, Jo and her sister Lois went on some “oddities road trips” and enjoyed many adventures traveling together. Jo enjoyed collecting crystal and was especially proud of her crystal bell collection. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo, cards and playing games on her I-pad. Additionally, she was an avid reader and crocheter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter(Donna), son-in-law John Muehlbauer, Albert Fields II, and Albert Fields III.(husband and son of her granddaughter Jennifer).
Joanne is survived by her son Mike (Ann) Sollberger, daughter Rhonda (Scott) O’Hara , eight grandchildren (Jennifer, Patrick, Michael, Cory, Colin, Aiden, Zoe & Gabriel), three great grandchildren and her siblings Lois Meyer, Phyllis (John) Aase, Shirley (Joe) Shelton, Richard Erickson, and many other family and friends.
A celebration of life is planned at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN 55807 on Friday, August 16, 2024. Visitation at 2pm, Service at 3pm and Reception from 4-6. In lieu of flowers please donate to any “Breast Cancer Foundation” or “Hospice Care Center” of your choice.
